CHIEF CARBON TECHNOLOGIES OFFICER

Soheil is the Chief Carbon Technologies Officer at Green Star BCS. He has established his reputation and career on his front-end consulting for refining and petrochemical clients, for whom he has routinely reduced GHG emissions and project costs over the past 35 years. His expertise includes Crude, FCC, Coker, Hydrotreaters, Hydrocrackers, Renewable Fuels, and Hydrogen processing.

Soheil is a world-renowned leader for Energy Transition and renewable fuels strategy development. He led the Marathon Dickinson Refinery conversion; converted Phillips 66’s Rodeo refinery to the world’s largest renewable diesel production facility; and guided the Shell Cat Gas Plant Energy Reduction Project (listed on CARB website). He has worked on more than 48 renewable fuels studies and projects globally, with a combined capacity of 400 MBPD renewable fuels. His efforts led to capital cost savings of more than $645MM to date.

He served in previous roles such as Vice President Low Carbon & Renewable Fuels (Advisian), Director of Renewable Fuels (Advisian), Group Manager (Jacobs Consultancy), and Refining Technical Manager (Jacobs Engineering). He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tehran University and is based in Los Angeles.
